Thrills of DIY

I've been flitting through the Project Restyle Flickr group and wishing I could sew. I tried in the 8th grade but I'm pretty sure I failed the pillow case (no, seriously, I legitimately screwed up the dimensions somehow). I'm too easily frustrated with things to really try my hand at it so for now I will try to stay inspired to Restyle anyway. For instance...

remember the over-sized white mens shirt I bought brand new at Goodwill? I tried to pawn it off on my boyfriend but he rejected it for many reasons and convinced me I could do something with it. Well, I always catch myself looking coyly at the Rit dyes in Safeway... a bottle of that, a plastic bin from the Dollar Tree and I think I could be in business to try my hand at dip-dying- something I've wanted to try for some time.

Besides that, I managed to snap a pic or two of myself in a practice room mirror at school because I was digging what I was wearing. iPhone takes really wonderful photos for a phone but it's still a phone and I'm still standing in a mirror looking extra creepy so I apologize. Some day I promise I'll acquire a tripod and remote. Someday.

Olive green wool vest: Gap via Goodwill
Denim shirt: Thrifted
Cuffed skinnies: American Eagle
Leopard flats: Jessica Simpson via DSW
Earrings: Goodwill I love their sparkly quality without actually being sparkly)
Headband: Dollar Tree 3/$1!

I'm not sure I've worn this denim shirt with blue jeans up until now, I think it worked well and the vest made it a little less, uhm, offensive... I do sort of wish I had traded flats for boots though becasue my feet were COLD!
